The purpose of the study was to find assessment the standard of Physical Education and sports in Himachal Pradesh. A survey type study was designed to collect the required information and material through primary and secondary sources. The study was delimited in schools, colleges and universities, sports department of Himachal Pradesh. The procedure adopted to collect the data was through questionnaires, interviews and field visits. The Primary data collected for study-Administrative officers (20) working in sports department. Secondly Lecturers- (50) and D.P.E’s (100) working in schools, colleges and universities of Himachal Pradesh and a views of coaches (50), the Total samples 220 were selected for the study. The researcher had sought their responses through structured questionnaires and secondary data were collected from office records. The conclusions have been drawn on the basis results of study. The administrators and lecturers, D.P.E’s were satisfied with the infrastructures of physical education and sports in Himachal Pradesh. But in case of coaches. they were not satisfied with the present infrastructures. Encouragement should be given to those games which can be played in the hilly state. there was a lot of scope in indoor games in Himachal Pradesh.
